Three Great Summertime Recipes for RVers

delicious jambalaya for your Bent's rv

One of the last things you want to do in the summer is spend all day hunched over a hot stove in your RV's kitchenette. Having delicious food in the summer demands minimal preparation, delicious taste, and the ability to prepare it in the cozy confines of your RV.

Here are a few great summer recipes to try out after driving off the lot of Bent's RV in your brand new set of wheels:

Microwave Jambalaya

Those boxed jambalaya meals are usually pretty dull, but the cool thing about them is that you can prepare some brands right in the microwave. You just don't want to use them as the whole meal, as that can be a little boring.

Try microwaving a box according to the instructions, and sear a couple of country sausages, an onion and a bell pepper on the grill outside. Add some diced cold celery and you have a great Louisanan meal in very little time.

Hot Sauce and Beer

If you want to add some southern bite to your beer, grab a good dark beer like a Guiness and pour a splash of your favorite hot sauce down the inside of the mug before pouring the beer. This adds just enough bite to create a drink that is both refreshing and invigorating. Wherever you find yourself, take the time to shop around for a locally sourced sauce that doesn't have a strong vinegar flavor.

Pineapple and Pork Tacos

Grill and dice a half pound of pork and a half can of pineapple slices. Put that on some corn tortillas. That's it, that's the recipe, and it's amazing. You can season the pork with some salt and pepper to taste and put your favorite sauce and veggies on it. This simple meal is just the thing when you want a light, but still savory meal on a hot afternoon.

Over time you'll wind up with more and more summertime favorites when traveling in your RV in June, July, and August. These three should get you started.
