Bent's RV Guide to the Best Attractions in New Orleans

New Orleans RV Parts

When many people think of New Orleans they only think of partying and Mardi Gras. The fact is New Orleans has a lot more to offer RVers and anyone else looking for a getaway. Bent’s RV is proud to be the only RV dealer in New Orleans, and we thought we would share some of the gems of our city.

The Audubon Zoo – Covering some 58 acres and housing some 2,000 animals, the Audubon Zoo is one of the best zoos in the country. The zoo offers visitors the chance to visit the award-winning Louisiana Swamp and Jaguar Jungle. See a rare white tiger and even exotic white alligators. These are animals you won’t see at your average RV site!

Aquarium of the Americas – Part of the Audubon Nature Institute with the zoo, here you can feed the penguins and watch them play. You can learn more about the Gulf fishing industry with the "Geaux Fish!" exhibit, and get up close with animals from the Amazon.

The French Market - The French Market is an experience for the senses. It surrounds you in interesting sights, sounds, flavors, and smells. From incredible food to shopping for the unusual, the French Market is a world famous “must see” place along the Mississippi River.

Jackson Square – The center of the French Quarter, Jackson Square is full of history, terrific architecture, and street performances. It is also a great place to start a visit to the “lively” section of New Orleans. Jazz music fills the air and a fortune teller is never too far away.

Bourbon Street – What can we say? Bourbon Street is 13 blocks of around the clock entertainment. If you’re not into nightlife it can still make for an interesting daytime visit. The French Quarter architecture alone is worth the trip.

The National World War II Museum – Opened in 2000, this is one of New Orleans' most modern attractions. It not only features vehicles and exhibits from the war, but also has The Stage Door Canteen with dining and live shows. World War II veterans are always admitted for free.

Above Ground Cemeteries – Those who are not from the area may not realize that most of New Orleans is actually at or below sea level. This has created a unique series of historic above ground cemeteries that many find very interesting to tour.

Riverwalk – The Riverwalk along the Mississippi River offers dining and shopping options, multiple choices to take river cruises, or just spend some time just watching river traffic. It is also home to the nine-panel Holocaust Memorial, which, when viewed a particular way, forms a Star of David.

The New Orleans area is surprisingly RV friendly. If you are looking for an RV dealership in Southern Louisiana or live in Houma or Thibodaux, LA, check us out at Bent's RV Rendezvous. We offer southern Louisiana RV service that is unequaled!
